Divertizma Productions is Amy Burke and Geri Allen, two sisters from another mister who met in 2011 and decided that they had something unique to offer the world (whether or not the world agreed was beside the point). Since that fateful day, they have produced cabaret in London, created an original theatrical cabaret--Bebe+Luna Present...The Cabaret Farce-- for Sell A Door Theatre's Edinburgh Festival venue in 2015, as well as bespoke entertainment for a variety of corporate clients. Seeing an opportunity to start exploring other media, they collaborated with 7Wolves Studio to create a music video for their version of Frank Sinatra's classic, 'One For My Baby'.
In 2017, they wrote and produced a short film, The Voice, directed by Mark Hooper and currently being submitted to film festivals. They are collaborating with other filmmakers in London, and will be announcing more projects in the future.
WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
Amy Burke has degrees from Washington University in St Louis and the Birmingham School of Acting. She has been working in the London theatre and cabaret scene since 2011, following a relocation from her homeland of the United States of America (yes; she's American, and occasionally overly-excitable as a result). Amy has been producing cabaret and theatre in London and Edinburgh since 2014, and working as a professional singer and actor for nearly ten years.
Geri Allen has degrees from Middlesex University and East 15 School of Acting, and has been working in the London theatre and cabaret scene for over 10 years. In addition to her acting work, Geri is an accomplished musician (at last count, she was proficient in 7 instruments, which is just a bit ridiculous, she knows), and an experienced theatrical producer. And as a final sideline, Geri is a fully qualified health and safety officer working as a freelance consultant. But despite all of those feathers in her cap, she's still charmingly self-deprecating (she is English, after all).
What could you do if you stood up for yourself?
Directed by Mark Hooper. Coming 2017.
A collaboration with 7Wolves Studio. 2014.
Bebe van der Belt (a glamorous American) and Miss Luna Peach (a cheeky Brit) conspire to host the most divinely decadent evening anyone has ever seen. However, everything spirals into spectacular pandemonium, chaos and catastrophe! Come for the songs, stay for the shenanigans. Featuring a live band, lashings of sequins, an accordion and – of course – a kazoo. (There will also be a drinking game or two.) Join Bebe+Luna for a ravishing night of raucous delight!
The critics loved it...you will too!
'The brainchild of Amy Burke and Geri Allen, The Cabaret Farce is packed with genial, slapstick comedy bolstered by powerhouse vocals and an even stronger three-piece jazz band...It is big on comedy, but the foundation is the solid band and two leading ladies who seriously know how to sell a number.' -Paul Vale, The Stage
